The university degrees in construction are Master of Science in Construction Engineering and Architect.

Master of Science
As a Master of Science in Construction Engineering, you can design structures and buildings, create future facilities, find new uses for existing buildings, or develop a sustainable transport system.
The studies combine technical expertise with creative design and problem solving. Your studies may focus on, for example, circular economy, urban transport, bridge construction, property management or risk and cost management. At the end of the studies, the student completes a thesis in which they usually research or develop a current topic related to their field of study on behalf of an organisation.

Their tasks may be related to, for example, design and quality control in Finland or in international projects, various research and development projects as well as demanding design, development and management tasks.
You can study for a Master of Science in Engineering (DI) at Aalto University, the University of Oulu and the University of Tampere. The degree consists of three-year bachelor's degrees and two-year master's studies.

Architects play a key role in solving challenges related to the digitalisation, globalisation and urbanisation of the built environment as well as energy use, climate change, biodiversity and increasingly scarce natural resources.
An architect is both a vocational title and a degree title, i.e. in addition to a master’s degree, after graduation, an architect receives a professional qualification. The degree meets the objectives and requirements set by the EU Professional Qualifications Directive for the training of architects. After completing the degree and obtaining sufficient work experience, in Finland, it is possible to obtain the qualifications of a head designer, building designer or planner for exceptionally demanding sites.
